Hi All,
I'm relatively new to looking for RPMs but noticed this curious mark to the north-east of the main D on a 1968-D cent I was looking at. It doesn't match any descriptions I've seen so far about common '68-D RPMs. Does anyone think it's a possible new RPM, or some other mark- die polishing, die gouge, or something else?

Thanks!

Looks like a die gouge or similar form of die damage. I'm sure our variety experts will weigh in with their opinions.

Since there are similar lines in the same direction (from the left lapel to the 1 and 9 digit in the date) I would suspect that this is a heavy, short die scratch.

I will add my agreement that it appears to be some type of die damage, either a die scratch or gouge.
