ive been collecting since i was a teenager. around 12yrs old. my parents house was broken into and part of my collection stolen when i turned 14 or 15. i stopped collecting everything unless it came in my pocket change. came along a few silver quarters and the 50 state quarters sparked my interests.im 24 now and im wanting to get back into the Collecting of coins but i want to be specific in what to "collect". ive chosen my area and its collecting the Odd Error coins.

just a few questions before i get to deep into it.

1.what should i look for?
2.should i try and buy anything specific?
3.should i try and stay away from anything? what should i look out for?
4.value wise what are these things worth?

i have a good collection i think already of errors. the only thing the robbers took from my collection was my pride and joy morgan dollars. i have close to 50 of them. dang...

There are hundreds of basic error types, numerous subtypes, and assorted effects associated with each. Check the "archived articles" section of this website for a list.

It's not for me to tell you what to collect. You might start with some basic reference books like The Error Coin Encyclopedia and the Official Price Guide to Mint Errors.
