CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    looks like some extra metal. i took my 10x magnifier to it and it doesnt look like it was fooled with. also it looks to have a die crack under the nose.

    i used my camera and magnifer glass to take the picture as suggested by this forum and it worked well enough for me. thanks

    any suggestions if this is an error or not? the date on the coin is 1920.

        I don't think it's a mint error. The shape is incompatible with any sort of die break or die damage. To the extent I can make any determination from your blurred photos, I'd hazard a guess that it's either post-strike damage or some solder.
