CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Interesting Eisenhower Die Clash

I have seen some odd die clashes on IKES, but, this one is new to me--seen a lot of coins, and this has never popped up for me----from a 77-D, this clash clearly shows a raised portion of what I believe is a portion of IKE'S eye under the obverse tail feathers(I use my rubber-tipped tongs to figure out where the clash came from--whatever is matching on the opposite side of the coin is the clash source)--I'll write Dr. Ezerman, author of the Proposed Die-Clash Grading System about this one, he may have seen it before--I put a Normal coin in for pic 2 for comparison, the boxey area near the wing and the leg is supposed to be clear. Lets call this one "The Webbed Feather Clash"
Another reason keep hunting, even on "Junky" 77's!
