2000 LMC rev. doubling

The top of the center 3 collums are showing some type of doubling, Not sure if its ejection doubling, MD or DD ?

At times, when looking at design elements, we see something and wonder where that came from. This is case where you are seeing the very top of the column, something not often seen since this is one of the parts of that design element to wear away first.

Like Jefferson's lashes, or the full pupil of Lincoln's eye, these very fine details are either not transfered down to the working die, even though they may be on the master die, or these fine detailed design elements may only be seen on coins that have been struck from VEDS dies.

I should have said the doubling is inbetween the center columns at the top. I've never have seen these extra lines befor.

That again is a design element (the back of the bay ceiling) that is supposed to ad depth to the design. It is like the "extra columns seen on the inside of columns #1, 5, 8 and 12. These represent the back columns inside the bay area.

I just took a second look at this and you may have a doubled die, although there are some that believe that this is a well placed die gouge. This is not the only example that I have seen.

Should I send this coin out to have it looked at.

I would hold off on it for the moment, until more people confirm that it is a doubled die.
