  • Strange mint mark 1943 S dime

I can't find this version of S in the mint mark varieties. It looks like maybe a repunch or an inverted mark. The upper loop is far larger than the lower loop and the serifs look like an inverted trumpet tail. Any ideas?

I wish that I could help you, however, the picture is to blurry at magnified settings to make out what is going on. One thing that I can say is that the mint mark appears to be the standard used for that year and not the rare trumpet tail mint mark.
