CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1962 Washington quarter proof DDO?

    Is this a DDO FS-25 1962-101?

It very well maybe, however, I do think that an in hand examination would be the best way to tell.

Proofs can be deceptive. However, this one appears to me to be machine damage doubling.

Saw your post over on the PCGS forum. The Cherrypickers' Guide is wrong in calling it a proof. I have confirmed with JT Stanton and it will be fixed in the next edition of the CPG.

OK, is it any kind of DDO then?

Your coin is not a DDO. The CPG coin is a DDO, but not a proof as stated in the book. The CONECA cross reference to a business strike coin is correct.
