CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Please take a look at this 2007 Roosevelt Mint Mark. As I understand it their not repunched any longer. Can you give me an idea for classifying it? Thanks.

    Hi Tuebits - Mint marks are still "punched" in, the main diffrence is that in 1990 they were added to the master die instead of the tedious job of adding them to the working die. This did away with the possibilities of having a "repunched" or secondary mint mark, EXCEPT in the instances where the mint mark was actually doubled due to a doubled die.

    As for your mint mark. From the pictures it appears to be a case of die deterioration with the heavy metal flow lines in and around the mint mark in question. This is commonly seen, especially with the dime.

      Yes that's die deterioration doubling you could tell by the orange peel effect on the fields near the mint mark. I have one with raised image on the mm but it's still ddd.
