Received this in change at Walmart, took a closer look at it because I was impressed with the lack of wear. Anyway noticed this so thought I would inquire would it be a clashed die or another cause?
Thank you

Hi Seeindubl,

I see the die polish lines in the field and the die chips in front of the chin and at the neck/chin transition. I'm not sure if that's a die crack between the lips or just the lighting but what your really asking about looks more like a die crack or multiple cracks. It's curious how the crack is almost a straight line. I'm calling it a crack because it's wider and deeper than normal polish lines. Starting from the bottom of the neck/chin, the crack runs parallel down to the shoulder and hits a die chip then wraps around the shoulder and actually ends there. The bottom line is a seperate crack, you can see the seperation between the two cracks at the lower portion of the shoulder. I know it's not her shoulder but that's what I'll call it. That's how I would look at it if it were mine.

It does look like we're dealing with some rather peculiar die cracks.

Thank you both for the explanation.

I think were dealing here with a series of die gouges along with some die cracks also striation lines The ones in red seem to be a die gouge notice the point on the image and raised slightly more the the others and are quite thicker in nature . I never really seen a conglomeration of that many on a coin before
