CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

  • I nedd help with copper 2

    Hello,I have posted a question on general form but dont know if more people read this one
    My son is doing a science project.he wants to know how much copper is in
    1 cent 5 cents 10 cents 25 cents 50 cents and the 1 dollar
    then he needs how manny of each have been made at all mints for 2008
    leadding him to the total out put of copper in us coins for 2008
    if you can direct me I would appericiate it

    That is going to be hard to do. I do not think that the figures are out for the total production of coinage during 2008. What is out though is the totals for 2007 and they can be found in the "Red Book" 2009 edition.

        Here is a link to info on current circulating coinage on the offical U.S. mint site...

        There is info on copper content and weight for each denomination. I found it interesting that the U.S. Mint uses the word 'Penny' instead of 'Cent'. If the Mint calls it a penny, who am I to say otherwise.

        If the project is to include ALL coinage, then you will need to find production figures for proof sets and mint sets.
