Let me introduce myself with a nice find 1942 Inverted S Dime

Good day everyone. I recently joined this message board and have looking around for a while. I am becoming more and more interested in varieties. In December I sent a mercury dime to CONECA for verification. It was my first discovery coin which turned out to be a 1939 3-O-VI Mercury Dime. Pretty exciting for me (the first couple of images).

I was at a local coin dealer and asked if they had any varieties for sale. He offered to let me go through a bucket of silver dimes. I found a 1942 Inverted S Mercury dime. I think these are only a recent discovery, but finding one none-the-less was fun and exciting.

While I do agree that the 1939 is a doubled die, I do believe that the S on the 1942 is in the correct attitude and not inverted.

I have looked at those pictures and yours is most similar to the second picture which I believe is the normal S. Howver, I maybe wrong.

Cool! That means all my other 1942-S dimes are inverted! :D

Really, now here is a normal one. Note how the swooping inside part of the serif belongs on the bottom in this image and it is in the upper position on the first image I posted. One is right one is upside down.
