90 degree rotated bison

Sorry for being absent so long. That was mainly due to the fact that I haven't been able to roll search for a while. I just started again, with few finds. I did make my very favorite find recently, though. Mine is the coin featured on the CONECA homepage (with great thanks to Ken Potter). I just wanted to know what you guys thought of it. The first thing I did when I found the coin was thoroughly inspect it with my 10x magnifier, and I saw absolutely no trace of it being altered, so I am 100% certain that it is genuine.

So, does anyone know if anybody else found one of these? I'm very curious now as to the rarity of the coin.

Major rotated die errors are quite rare on recent issues. This is the first I've seen for this date. Very nice find.

This is the first I have seen on the Buffalo nickel. I found a 45 degree rotated Keelboat nickel a year or so ago, and sold it. As Mike said, they are very scarce on modern coinage. I have seen a few on the State Quarters, but very rarely on other coins. Congrats on a really nice find.

I would guess between $100 and $125.

I read at various on-line sites that a rotated reverse on a Buffalo nickel is either "fairly common","more difficult to find than for other issues", "never been reported for 1936 Buffalo nickels", and so on. I have a 1937 w/ a rotated reverse (maybe 20% or so). Anyone really know if this is uncommon, common, collectible, not so interesting? I am not that much into errors and varieties so any information would be helpful. I do not see any listed w/ a quick Google search for a 1937 (many other dates though). Thanks.

Minor rotated die errors are common on buffalo nickels. Any rotation of less than 30 degrees carries no premium.
