Just cracked a roll of silver quarters and hit a neat find...Not only were there a bunch of type B's, but there is also a crack progression.

What I thought was a just die gouge on the third or forth coin that I looked at (first image) eventually became a pretty decent crack that starts at the base of the left wing, forks to hit the rim at E of United, runs through UNUM, forks again to the rim along M of America and continues part way down the right wing.

The better part of the roll were related to the two coins in the images. :)

Nice die cracks. Let me correct one item that is often misunderstood. This is a proof design, not a proof die. Proof dies undergo special preparation to give them the smooth reflective surfaces. This die did not receive such preparation.

I missed the verbage when looking at the variety in my CPG. Thanks for setting me straight. I shan't make the error again.

Question: Was it a case of having more raw proof design dies than needed, or an employee error?
