Misplace MM

Hello all, wondering if this 1953 D Wheat cent has a possible Misplace MM. Thank you for the help.

Its position falls within the normal range of variation.

The area I am referring to is the raised part between the 9 and the MM.

It looks like damage or a lamination error. It's definitely not a secondary mintmark.
