First, here is an image of a 1955-D/S Jefferson Nickel for you viewing pleasure. Both coins have been added to the Variety Resourse page at my website.

Here is an extream example of die bounce. Many people ask why aren't coins like this Doubled Dies. The flat shelves, and the doubled mint mark are always the first place to look! Doubled dies have split serifs; shelf doubling does not.

That photo of the 69s cent is a good photo that shows one of the many forms of the not very valuable maching doubling. maybe some collectors can learn from it. I'm tinkering with a homemade lens I made for my old camera tonight and I'm adding a photo of a 1994 p mint quarter with the machine or what I call strike doubling. I'm mostly wanting to see how my photo looks like after it gets on the website. If you can see my photo look how far the letters in God were pushed over , the D is starting to overlap the O . I don't think very many people is collecting the mechanical doubling coins as of yet but we never know what folks may want in the future.I'm keeping the 1994 and a few 1996 ones that I have been finding with this extreme MD. It don't cost anything to keep them.
