HELLO, I AM NEW TO THIS SITE. I HAVE BEEN READING SOME OF THE POSTS ON THE 1988 AND 1989 LINCOLN COINS. I SEARCH BANK BOXES AND POCKET CHANGE AS A HOBBY AND I FOUND THIS COIN.

THIS IS THE REVERSE OF A 1989 LINCOLN CENT. COULD YOU PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK. ALL REPLIES WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

From the weakness of the tops of the lettering in America I would have to guess it is just a normal RDV-006 that has been abraded. I couldn't tell for sure without more magnification. I am not the most qualified to answer though.

I would have to agree with Car10's statement. Also James Wiles, after much study, believes that a 1989 with a RDV-005 reverse is just a 1989 with an over abraded RDV-006.

THANKS FOR THE HELP. IF THIS IS A RDV-OO6 IS THIS A GOOD VARIETY OR IS IT COMMON. IS THERE ANY VALUE OR SHOULD IT BE PUT BACK INTO CIRCULATION.

The RDV-006 was the regular reverse used for 1989 Lincoln cents. If you would, take a look at the "Variety Vista" site (easiest way is to go to CONECA home page and you will find the link there). Once there, bring up the "Design Varieties" and then the "Lincoln cent". This will show the various reverse used for the reverse Memorial Lincoln cents.

Plus it is another great site to become familiarized with.
