Does any one know of a publication which will provide values for the 1956 to 1964 type B reverse? I have found four and wonder if it is worth the cost of encapsualization and certification. three arre MS and one is AU50.

The Cherrypicker's Guide, Edition # 4, volume II does list the Washington quarters with Type "B" reverse. Prices run from $50.00 to over $100.00 depending what year it is and of course condition.

I checked that reference (Cherrypickers #4), but discounted the info provided when it classified the type B as URS 4 rarity factor. I find it hard to believe the rarity factor of four when I found four in my personal coin holdings. That made me skeptical of the values and prompted the inquiry into other publications.
Many thanks

The silver type B business strike reverse quarters are much more common than thought. The only one which is difficult to find in mint state is the 1956. I usually recommend an estimated value at 2x-3x trends.

I've got a question to. Who will certify type B's? I know neither NGC nor PCGS will.

I would be surprized if NGC and PCGS won't slab them. They are in the CPG and I believe both will slab CPG varieties. ANACS and ICG will also slab them.

I know for a fact that neither NGC nor PCGS will recognize the type B's when asked why, I received no reply.

Numismatic News once a month has a coin price guide called Coin Market. Coin Market has carried prices for the 1956-64 and 64D type B quarters since Oct. 07.

I stand corrected, you know, though, I personally don't see how they can tell the difference, The Business strike and the proof side by side look identical.

The differences are fairly easy to tell. The proof style has the leaf in front of the arrow points extendend above them while the business strike does not.
