CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Posts that are in poor taste

Hi All - Lately, we have been experiencing some posts that are very questionable in their taste, mostly advertising pornographic sites and/or on line pill purchasing. It has also been reported that some of these post have a virus attached. I would like to thank all of you for reporting these offensive posts and hope that you will continue to do so.

Mike Diamond, James Wiles and myself will always try and stay on top of this problem, deleting these posts, with Mike Diamond banning the perpetrator from using the CONECA Forum. However, some posts may take a bit longer to delete than others, so please bear with us.

Again, thank you all for making this a better site.

    Regards to all

    No Problem,

I know when I've called them to your attention, they are usually gone pretty fast.

    Thanks,

    Bill

One thing that might help, and you might already do this, is to not only ban the user name but also ban the IP address.

As the moderator of the coppercoins forum, we had this very same problem, and it was worse than we are experiencing here right now. Most of these threads and/or registrations are made by bots...computer programs made to search for forums and the like, and then submit their garbage. It is difficult to keep up with, but with folks like Mike, BJ and the others, they will be eliminated. There are some programming patches for some forum types, but I do not know if there is one for this program. I will check on it.
