  • 1970D Jefferson Nickel

Help, I need info on a 1970d jefferson nickel struck on a cent planchent. Does anyone know of the pop, rarity and value?

Then I need help with a 1970d jeff that is struck in a copper planchent that is the same size of the nickel planchent(which really has me confused). Was there any copper other than clad coinage in 1970 that the mint was stricking for another country?

These two coins have me looking for answers.

I would guess that your nickel struck on a cent planchet would be worth between $200 and $250 in uncirculated condition. Your copper-colored, normal-diameter nickel could be one of many things -- improperly annealed (i.e. "copper wash", "sintered plating"), foreign planchet, foreign stock, plated outside the mint, chemically stained, or even a struck counterfeit. A weight would be helpful.
