  • 1946-S ROOSEVELT DIME INVERTED MINT MARK?

Hey everyone, I came across this 46-S Dime that looks to have an inverted mint mark? Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance! Andy

This is the ball serif mint mark that was used in 1945 and partially in 1946. If you notice, there is a fine break in the upper loop of the S mint mark. This indicates that it is in the proper position. Go to this link below for a picture of an inverted ball serif mint mark and a mint mark in the correct attitude. Even though it is on a Lincoln cent, it is the same mint mark.
