  • 1998-P Dime - 2 sets of reeding around rim

I have ran into tons of Roosevelts with a double rim (railroad rim) that runs for a short distance. However, this is the first I have found that has another set of reeding. Just wondering if these are rare at all or have I just not ran into one yet. It looks kind of cool. I can't find anything else wrong with it and this is not duplicated on the reverse.

This is called a collar clash (similar in nature to a die clash). As for rarity, they are less common than the die clash and do have a small premium attached.

They do carry a premium. I put this one on ebay with a starting bid of $1.99. It ended up selling for $10.50. Thanks again BJ. I feel like I owe you a cut for the knowledge.

To have knowledge is great, to be able to use it is even better.
