  1. Default A couple of things going on with this 1958-D Lincoln Cent

    The coin appears to be a pretty nice BU, but it's got a small strip of metal or wire struck through the obverse, as well as a raised 'dot' between the 9 & 5 of the date. The strike through is easy enough to figure out, but what about that raised circular spot?

    It's surely not. It appears to be a perfectly round dot of bright copper raised above the surface of the coin. I'll try to get some better images posted....because you're correct, it does look a bit transparent in the picture posted.
