CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Someone suggested Late die state.
Does it have much value in late die state?

Sorry smittys, it's not the same. The MM on your coin is closer to, and more directly under, the 5 in the date. MM position is the first thing to look for in determining if you have a match.

How come it has all the same PUPs?

Many of the PUPs and markers are pretty generic. Which ones are you referring to? The most important PUP is the MM position, since that is a unique identifier for each die.

Harpoon in 9, die chips in 6

Hi smittys...the two markers are certainly there, but the die chip in your coin's 6 is a bit lower than the one in the variety. It's hard to tell about the harpoon as the shadows obscure details. Many coins/dies have common markers as they are the result of normal die wear and tear, clashing, etc...Ray

Clearly not RPM#16 as the MM location is very different. I see no RPM at all. The die markers you refer to are in the master tooling and can be found on many dies so can not be used as markers for individual dies.
