CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1961 D 1c with added features

Ran across this little gem in a roll and the extra features at the bottom of Lincoln's coat caught my eye. There is also what appears to be a die crack line from just over the temple to over and past the ear but this is secondary to the bonus features. I don't see any doubling of any features, so I don't know what to call this anomaly? Anyone have any input???

It's mostly unremarkable, but if I squint and look real hard with the loupe, I see what looks like faint markings resembling letters & numbers? These are under the monument and in the NW open field. If I look at it long and hard enough, I might see unicorns and aliens?

The Reverse is normal ( no MAD )
The obverse is a Misaligned Die ( MAD )

We need to see some closeups of Abe's coat, and then give it a cool name .

Here he is from every angle. This will be known from this day on as "Abe's Wardrobe Malfunction / Nip Slip".
