CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1942/1 D Lincoln Wheat Cent

    I’m a new member and this is my first submission. I referenced Coppercoins.com and they did not have anything listed for what I believe to be a find. I was really surprised due to its likeness to the 1942/1 D Mercury Dime. I just stumbled upon this

    In my opinion, there is no documentation for a 42/1 Lincoln cent.
    IF it were an overdate I am sure it would have been found decades ago by some one with a gem bu example.
    Looking at the coin photo itself, I personally do not see anything significant.

      Again, I apologize for only sending the one picture that was sideways at that. I’m feeling quite awkward even navigating through the site. I’m going to send the other pictures one at a time. I agree with you in that I was quite surprised that if this is what I believe it to be that it would have been found before. Let me share the other photos if I may one at a time??? As soon as I can figure out what I need to do to upload a photo. I’m being told even single pics are too large.
