The CONECA Forum does have a moderator, but the less posts he has to move the better.
There are a few main forums, just in case you don't understand where things go, I can offer a summary.
Always start your own post. Forum rules say one coin per post.
The die variety forum should have topics related to
Doubled dies (Doubled die obverse, Doubled die reverse)
Repunched mintmarks (D over D, S over S)
Over mint marks (D over S, S over D etc.)
Repunched dates (same date punched at least twice into a die)
Over dates (at least two different dates punched into a die)
A few websites that cater to many varieties are
Https://conecaonline.info
The mint error forum has just about everything else
Off centers
Brockage
Clipped planchet
Double, Triple or multiple struck
Die cap
Die chips or cracks
Incomplete punch
Lamination error
Transition error
Struck through grease or debris
Struck on wrong planchet
And many more.
Additional errors can be found at
Https://error-ref.com under the completed entries area.
Plenty of other variety and/or error websites are out there. Depends on your interests.
General forum is a catch all.
CONECA Services has private areas that you can post a question to a CONECA staff member. CONECA uses this area to pre-screen anything that might be consider a send in. The CONECA staff looks at the coin on line and, if they determine they want to see it in hand, they will let the coin owner know. I do not know if the pre-screen costs anything. If it does, its a pretty low fee. More details can be seen on the main CONECA website, https://conecaonline.org
website. This area is broken down into two categories:
Examinations is for error type coins.
Attributions is for variety type coins.
That's about it.
Happy hunting.
Jamez Hopefully CONECA staff can use this info as a sticky to cut down on posting confusion for those brand new to the forum / hobby. CONECA staff can take it and copy/move/modify as they wish
