CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Greetings All

Hello, I am new to the forum here at CONECA. However, numismatics is my absolute passion. I have been collecting for quite some time, with Cherry Picking being my wheelhouse. I'm excited to be a part of CONECA. I'm not yet an official member but will be applying soon. My collecting started with a Lincoln Cent at a convenience store and it has been a whirlwind of knowledge gained since that day. I was initially a collector who thought I had found every Doubled Die in existence. Well, some very seasoned collectors gave me a great piece of advice. They told me that I had a decision to make. I could either run around and chase a quick buck and maybe get lucky or I could slow down, do my research and decide if this hobby was right for me. Since then I have, at one time been the holder of the overall number 8 ranking in graded V.D.B. Wheat Cents, amassed over 30k Registry points in the NGC, am now a member of the ANA, and have discovered errors such as the 1864 L in Ribbon DDO-001, Snow variety, the 1983 DDR, and several others. I say all of that to say this. Thank all of the folks in these very forums, for you feedback and expertise. Excited about the future.

With the utmost respect and gratitude,
    Brace Blackmon (Newmismatist08)
