I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jon and I found this community after looking for coins as a new hobby. Its been a fun thing to do and a way to distract myself while I care for a parent who is suffering from cancer. I am from North Carolina and thankfully am retired from the public service field and USMC Veteran. I have always enjoyed history and the discovery of new things and found searching through coins fascinating. Now that I have some addition time on my schedule I needed a way to be occupied and have a little fun. I have been searching through US coins left to me by my grandfather and change I have saved and actually found some neat stuff. I have three kids one of which has jumped on board too and so we regularly send each other pictures of what e find. Its been fun and sometimes frustrating learning but I know see the light and am just having fun. Going to put together a collection for fun and honestly to pass on a a store of wealth. I am glad I found your organization and look forward to the ride.

CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.
