  • 1967 Canada 1$ Wild Geese Incomplete planchet question

I do not do a lot of Canadian coins but, this one is on co-signment.
Is there a favorite, accurate website when it comes to information on this apparent one year coin?
From the rim view, it looks like its relatively shallow incomplete punch.

I am trying out a new phone camera so bear with the experiment .

it is a neat error. i had a post written up but didn't submit as i didn't think i'd be adding anything you didn't already know or could find almost instantly.

the ngc world coin lookup site is quite good imo. (missing some issues tho i think) used it many hundreds of times. basically the online version of a krause. i use both.

even spent some time tracking down authentication methods for this tough error, (incomplete punches), but i think it is a bit above my pay grade having not worked/seen many of them. maybe a few dozen, mostly not in-person.

I wrote an article in CONECA's ErrorScope a few issues back on Incomplete Punch errors. Have several in my collection, both US and Canadian. Yours is a nice example of the error type other than its not an uncirculated example. If you have any questions or would like to see other examples, let me know.

        Thanks Zimmy,

I have this on co-signment and I am thinking of sending it in to get slabbed.
Being that its a larger denomination and its on a one-year series, I am pretty confident it will be gone relatively soon.
I don't collect too many Canadian coins, but when I do, they are usually pretty dramatic.
