CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Found this in a box of junk coin here at the house. I guess it's a clash. Maybe not.

    Is there anything on the other side that would have caused a clash mark in that area?

      Possibly the G of George but the die would had to have been rotated about 5 degrees or so. I don't know what else it could be other than a die dent or die gouge (both distinct possibilities).

        Ken here is what you have.,

        Zoell #P176p - Minor Coin Varieties - 3th Edition - 1965

        Its a die chip. They call it the Plug 6

          I tried to look it up and just realized the Zoell I grabbed was the 1970 Supplement to the Third & Fourth Editions.

          It doesn't look like a die chip. I'd have to go with die gouge before a chip. "Plug 6" huh? OK! Sounds like 60s slang.
