CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Are you referring to the maple leaf after the date?

    IF SO...

The 1947 Maple Leaf refers to Canadian coins dated 1947 which bear a tiny maple leaf following the date to denote that they were actually minted in 1948. When the dies were ready in 1948 to correct the shortage, they started minting 1948 dated Coins.

thanks for the reply.I think one of them is a pointed 7 as well, plus one has some extra metal in a few spots.I'am not sure of the term for that.

Interestingly, the Maple Leaf next to the 7 was punched in by hand on dies that already saw use without it (and possibly fresh dies dated 1947). Variations in location can be found and repunching.
