CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

Okay, we have two issues here. The first the doubling on the forehead is from a Master die doubling when it was made from the Master hub. The CPG, fourth edition - volume one has a small piece about this particular master die doubling on page 333.

The second appears to be a doubled eye lid to the south, which would make this a true doubled die, IF that mark is what it is. Only in hand examination could determine that. Since it does look promising, I would get a hold of Dr. Wiles for his analysis and possible submission to him for his study.

BJ: Thanks for the reply, As I went through this roll I came across proably 8 coins with the doubling of the forhead although this one was the most obvious. and none of the die markers matched up, so the master die doubling was my first thought but was not sure. I will send to Mr Wiles for examination . Thank You for your time.
