State quarter errors

In my opinion, this coin looks heavily pitted, as if they were in the ground or exposed to some sort of acid treatment in the past. The overall patina, or finish has been stripped off.
If someone takes a tool, like screwdriver or punch and strikes the coin real hard with a 3 pound sledge, it will damage one side and place a bulge on the other. It also should have been on a road, somewhat on a pebble and some one ran it over. The scenarios can be many.
Once coins go into circulation, its open season on the types of abuse they might go through. So if some suspects an error coin and it's been in circulation, one has to weigh in the possibility of post mint damage, or PMD. That means it was done after it left the US Mint.Gary Kozera
