While I will say that it is a doubled die, it is hard to reference this coin to a die number without in hand analysis.

Does it have any of the markers for the 43S DDO-003? Any doubling on the reverse? There are a ton of markers listed in the 43S series, you should be able to attribute your nickel using the listings. The more you use the listings the more fun you will have, and the easier it will be to attribute your nickels.

Larry - Is the 42S and 43S the same die? I checked for the markers for the 42S, but could not seem to locate any that are mentioned in the listings. I didn't look at the 43S.

Jon...the 42S and the 43S are not the same dies. I made a mistake thinking yours was a 43S instead of a 42S when I looked at the listing, sorry about that. Is there any evidence of a light East-West die crack in the hair?

I don't have the coin in hand at the moment, but from the listed pictures I am not able to see any die cracks in the hair. I check for the markers in the other listings for the 42S and can not seem to match any of those either. Maybe it's a new one?

The only doubling I see is on TRUST and that is on the master hub. Almost all nickels from 1939 to 1964 have that doubling.
