CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1886/86 S $5 Liberty RPD Question

    Good afternoon!

    Came across this 1886 S $5 Liberty (PCGS MS62+) and noticed it has what looks like an RPD (RePunched Date). Seems to be similar to the variety listed over at NGC's Variety Plus (VP-002), but not exactly the same.

    Since it's not an EXACT match for the variety over at NGC, was curious if anyone here collected/has researched $5 Liberty die varieties and could offer their knowledge for an attribution.
