CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1965 Quarter Question

Hello and thank you for your time.
I wanted to ask if this was a legit doubled Die coin or not.
if it is not, I appreciate the help.
if it is, could you say if it looks or resembles FS-101? If not, I understand and still appreciate the help.

do you guys even look at the sites with the info? (or buy the books/pdf)

nice images and presentation but you posted a close-up image that doesn't really show the best parts that are doubled for the 101.

if that site isn't enough for you for some reason, there are others and if you are searching out an FS variety, coinfacts is really a great place to visit.

i've pulled these sites up so many times in the past 15 years i could probably provide enough traffic to sustain them all on my own!

here is a tip about using CF, 99% of the time when i just type 1965 25c into a search engine, the CF page is either the top result or one of the top and if i type 1965 25c fs-101, 99.9% of the time it is the top result. hope it helps

you can access extremely high resolution images to compare with your coin(s).

i'll further note after looking at the CF image up-close, you will notice JUST how much the profile of wash and the motto look like strike doubling, despite the spread. you will also see the spread on the top of the head but the motto, is just, wow!
