CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2023 silver American Eagle dollar coin

    Question. Is anyone aware of a variety or error listed for a 2023 silver American Eagle coin? I'd like to see one for comparison.

    i just did some searching, ebay, pcgs pops, coinfacts, v v (just in case) etc and turned up nothing other than a plethora of minor struck-throughs. doesn't mean there aren't any out there though. i just didn't see anything noteworthy.

    i did also come across an NGC article (glad they are still doing those) about 2023 counterfeits and detection and am happy to report that MOST counterfeits are still pretty obvious with a little education and if you are a big bullion coin type buyer, best to keep 1-2 known good examples on you during buying trips for comparison.
