CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

1999 Lincoln Cent DDR? And Mark on the 9 in date

So i recently acquired this beaut. To me it looks like WDDR-002 or WDDR-005 on Wexler. But on the front is a die mark of some kind I think and on the back on the top steps it looks like a crack running down the steps? Thoughts

In my opinion, the area in the 9 appears to be a die chip, but, it could have been a zinc bubble as well. If I had to choose, I would go with a die chip. It's a common area to see them. It could be debris as well. If you decide to do so, and it's debris, you should be ablevto knock it out pretty easily with a soft cloth. It it stays, then it might be a die chip.

All those lines, or scratches are from die maintenance from an over zealous mint employee. It's usually called an abraded die. They do this in most cases to hide the effects of a die clash.

As far as the possible DDR, I am not a big fan of eye, ear nor column/Lincoln statue DDRs. I will let some one else answer that.
