Yes, there is zinc rot. Having said that, there looks to be an RPM. Now of course the RPM could be just be zinc rot ....but.... it sure looks like an RPM to me. Are the Lincoln cent records available somewhere?

In my opinion, its damage known as split copper plating. The zinc core then leaks, reaching the surface of the coin and discolors the surface, aka zinc rot.
