  • Help with a 1c 71 PR DDO

I was going through a group of 71 proof sets looking for Kennedy varieties and found this 1c 71S PR DDO. The PUP match the 71S PR DDO-001 in the CONECA listings, with the Stage B marker, die scratches on vest, no die dent in bay 9. Although this cent has doubling on the bow tie and the edge of the coat. When I compared the MDS photos of the 71S PR DDO-001 from Coppercoins, the date photos don’t come close to matching, and the markers listed on Coppercoins aren’t there. Am I missing something…could this be a new listing?

    Thank You,
    Larry Nienaber

    IT IS DIE#1, NICE FIND!

    Hello Larry,
First off great find!! I believe your coin is still Die#1 and to me matches the PICS at Coppercoins. One thing I did notice the example you found does not have strike doubling. Coppercoins PIC has strike doubling, most evident in "GOD". The upper inner loops of the word. Hope that helps you out a bit.
    Regards
    Harold

Really nice find! I have the FS#-102 (FS-033), both are excellent coins and hard to come by. Congrats!

        Larry,

I also think yours is Die-1 FS-032(FS-101) but yours shows the doubling better on the motto than the one on coppercoins or the one I have but it's still the same. Your's might be an earlier state so it might not have some of the markers. You made a GREAT find!!!!!!

To be sure look at WE.
Die-1 FS-032 has almost no doubling on WE.
Die-2 FS-033 has nice doubling on WE.

        This is Die-1 FS-032:
