CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I too have been searching all the CA quarters I run across looking for DDRs and haven't found any. I would really like to get your CA DDR listed in the CONECA files and up on varietyvista.com. Please email me for specifics.

      James,
Just let me know. Ken Potter had already shot photos of the CA DDR and did the story. If you would like to examine my discovery piece just let me know what you need me to do. I also have the 1988-P DDO#1 25c the Ken Potter also did a story on a good while back. I could send that to you as well to examine. I have to dig around to see if I have there here with me.

I got my coins back from Wexler and checked the marker for the 2005 P MN doubled earlobe. Mine also has the die scratch markers you showed in the photo - so they are the same variety. Your coin is in much better condition that mine -- so assuming you have not already done so, yours would be the better coin to send to Dr. Wiles for photos/attribution. It is probably the best earlobe DDO in the state quarters that I have seen and is certainly worthy of being listed at CONECA.

I'd also like to see pics of that 1988 quarter that you mentioned. I see plenty of them and would like to know what to look for.

Thanks for posting the marker for the 2005 P MN Dbld Earlobe. You can note that the wexler ID is WDDO-006.
