1976-D Kennedy half dollar ddr?

found this roll searching, checked for existing matches and none found on 1976-D DDR's. What has me thinking DDR is the edges of the doubling on "states" and "half". Let me know what you think. Thanks

In my opinion its mechanical damage. Its lower step like in appearance.
