CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Lincoln Cent 1962 Proof MS67

    I have this 1962 Proof Lincoln Cent and yet there is no mint mark. Were Proof coins made without the S mint mark?

    The S minted Lincoln cent was in discontinued in 1955 to prevent the "collectors" from hoarding that particular mint marked cent. The MINT found that this was not the case and in 1968 began adding both the D and S mint marks to the cent (the D mint mark was removed in 1965) once again.

    So to answer your question; the 1962 proof cent did not have a mint mark.
