The R shows a die chip. I see no doubling anywhere.

      Thanks again Mike!

Now had better understanding of die chip.

What is, or caused, the lines mid of "L" and "I" of LIBERTY?

      Many thanks again!

I see the lines or furrows you're referring to. While furrowed letters can be an indicator of a doubled die, you should also have extra thickness, which I don't see. I'm not sure what caused it, but I doubt it's a doubled die.

            Hello Everyone,

I agree 100% with Mike on this coin. No doubt it's a die chip attached to the leg of the R but the furrowes in the L and I of Liberty are also seen in the curve and leg of the R with what could be notching at the end. This could be caused by wear or metal flow. I've seen this a lot and wondered if ejection doubling could be the cause. Either way, even if it were true doubling (class 6) it is so minor that there wouldn't be any additional value to it really. Like Mike said, can't tell for sure what caused it but it leaves questions. Thanks for listening,

            Lestrrr
