CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1993P LMC Colum 8 Bay 7 Question

This is more than likely nothing more then a well placed chip, or die damage, but still have to ask. Looking under a 2x mag lens, and a 17x loupe the part in question is the same height as piece of the column it is comeing off of.

The first two photos were taken with the USB microscope, the first one at 10X the second was magnified with photoshop. The next two were with a digital camera, again the second of these two, photoshop was used to zoom in on the location.

    Thanks all in advance
    Dave

It is part of a die clash that is found on Lincoln cents.

      Thanks BJ.
Call me blind but I don't see the clash. Still learning and trying to shed some light into the darkness.
