CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Anyone have any ideas which DDR this is?

    Tim,
I think this looks like a light spread on an early die state. When I compare it to the other 69D DDR CONECA listings, I don’t see anything that would match and this spread might be minor. You should send it to James Wiles…or maybe he will respond to your post.

      Larry,

Thanks for the input. I am planning on including this coin in my next “box of twenty” for Dr. Wiles to attribute. I just thought it might be fun to get a few opinions on what it might be. There is a light tripling on the stars below the letters “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and doubling on the stars below the clouds. Most of the serifs on “STATES OF AMERICA” are also split.

With our luck, it will come back “Too minor to list” (LOL), but it is the fun of the hunt!

I still can’t take a good picture, but here is a few more of the same coin.

      Tim

        Tim,
The second group of photos shows a nice spread on that reverse, especially on the stars...let us know what James has to say about it.
