CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Massive D.C. quarter doubled die

    Check out the spread on this baby:

    I bought 5 rolls from the bank today and only opened one and found this;

    It'll be interesting to see how many more turn up.

    I was reading about this one this morning. This is his second find and it reminds me of the nickel with the extra steps that was recently discussed here. Very impressive example, have you seen it in hand yet? I'm curious if there is any more details that are doubled on it.

        That answers the question "Can these newer doubled dies be offset from each other that much?"

        This one appears to be offset about 10 degrees from primary to secondary images.

          That is a nice strong double die, unlike a lot of these incredibly minor ones that seem to get listed.
