CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello all, posting this to see if it a s/s, or is the area pushed up metal. The arrows are to two areas that are raised. Thank you for the help.

I am fairly confident that this is a RPM, although an in hand examination would be the best way to tell.

Notify Dr. James Wiles and he should give you an indication if he would care to see the coins.

Got My coins yesterday from Dr. Wiles and this is RPM-001,Stage B, MDS. But I have no idea what it means that this coin was whizzed. Thank you.

The term "whizzed" is applied to a coin that has been enhanced by cleaning with a slightly abrasive material, normally a pencil eraser. This shows as many microscopic lines on the face of the coin. This also reduces the value of the coin as well.
