  • Another New 2009 (FY) Lincoln Cent DDR, But Different

CONECA member Jeremy Gardner found a new 2009 (FY) Lincoln cent DDR. This one however, is a bit different. All of the previous DDR form this series involve the doubling of the fingers, while this one shows doubling on the spin of the book. See picture below.

Congratulations Jeremy on a very nice find.

Interesting. What's the count, now? Is this no. 12 for the "Formative Years" cent?

This is Crawford's CDDR-016 and I believe he has the highest count so far. There is also a Proof (FY) Lincoln cent as well in the Crawford files.

Jeremy Gardner also found CDDR-015, an extra finger. However, it was not as unusual as the above doubled die.

It is going to be interesting to see just how many of these 2009 (FY) Lincoln cent doubled dies there will be.

I received Jeremy's coin and it is now listed in the CONECA files as DDR-016, 16-R-VIII, stage B, EMDS. Thanks for sending this in for attribution. It takes all of us working together to build our files.

James - that is great news. I have CDDR-018 and WDDR-019 coming in the mail. When I receive them, I'llk forward them to you.

Also, this is a very minor DDR, however, both Crawford and Wexler have shown an interest in seeing it.

This die was found in rolls along with CDDR-011

James (or anybody with the information), is there a web page where the CONECA files can be viewed or is this kept under lock and key?
