  • 1878 VAM-9 First Morgan Die found today

Here's a neat find....took it home due to excessive obverse and reverse doubling....reading the VAM page...gets interesting...mine has the classic DDR/DDO, with heavy notching all over...letters, stars, motto, you name it....plus, a double eyelid....the small square "spike" below lid...and, a large "dot"...where the other spike is to be...the spike is in the middle of "being born"...you can see it's tail forming in the last pic, heading from the dot, back to the eye, very light.....cool stuff......... Reverse has The A1c reverse..with classic extra feathers...the F has the classic extra-metal Blob at bottom....the diecrack thru date is very thin...another EDS clue.....a lot of matchups to the VAM 9 also, "comma feather reverse"........the G in GOD is closed...R in TRUST is NOT broken....and classic die polish lines in cotton bolls.....now I see this....which makes a LOT of sense, though my dots are a little off...1878 VAM-14.12 Eye Dots.........OK guys...who is THE best TPG for VAM Morgans????? Thanks...

I would opt for PCGS on this coin.
